Day 52 At Sea

Today we are at sea on our way to Singapore for the second time. We are in the Gulf of Thailand. The ocean has been very peaceful these last few days and it has been very comfortable on board. We sailed past an oil platform today which was kind of neat to see from the ship. There is a great deal of traffic on the water. Everything from large freighters to small fishing vessels. Not a lot to report from here.
Tomorrow Singapore

Chris - Reflections - We are almost half way done with our adventure and I thought I'd give you some reflections of our experiences and a few updates:

Most Exciting Part of the Trip - (Depending on how you define exciting) - Dodging and experiencing 3 cyclones, one earthquake, one government protest, one tender which blew an engine and whose prop caught a rope (and we were in the wayyyyyyyy back "in the hole" of the tender) and one tsunami

Most Challenging - Living in a "closet" with someone for 51 days (just kidding...kinda),
Seriously, trying to keep up with wedding plans and participate even though we're so far away.
The internet and phone service.

Our Friends - The Seabourn, we miss Adam and Sarah, Aberto and Maggie, Marion and all of our trivia team. The Diamond Princess we miss Viv and Tony who were our Aussie friends we played trivia with.

Most Tempting Food - Seabourn - Triple caramel ice cream and the potato au gratin with tomatoes. The Princess - Fresh Belgium waffles and great, hot pizza.

Biggest Indulgence - Seabourn - buttered popcorn and coke. Princess - Small swirl ice cream cones and pizza.

Clothes MVP - Both ships = my black nylon baseball cap (protect my nose and lips from sun in the pool and out) and my black nylon gym shorts (covers my bathing suit bottoms...enuf said!)

Best Part of Sea Days - Seabourn - hot tub and sun deck chair on 5. Princess - pool and my aft sun area.

Most Pampered Experience - Seabourn - everything! Particularly when they made me a non alcoholic slushy fruit drink and delivered it to my hot tub every afternoon. Princess - an occasional pedicure and manicure.

Favorite Beach - The beach at the resort in Cambodia where the water was 90 degrees and it was a beautiful crescent, white sand beach. But, we didn't get to the prettiest beaches in Bora Bora and Tahiti...yet.

Most "Foreign" Country -Viet Nam

Favorite Port - Oh, too hard to call I loved something about all of them. I always love where I am.

Weight Update - pants even looser than before, I think. OK, maybe the salt water has gotten to my head, but no tighter :)

Most Proud - Seabourn - not even close to getting sick and not gaining weight. Princess - Not gaining weight.

Look Forward To - More terrific experiences like the ones we've already had. (Well, minus the cyclones, earthquake, etc. etc.), particularly when the kids meet us in New Zealand!!!!

All for now.
