Day 46 Singapore / Siem Reap,. CambodiaSi

This morning we docked in Singapore, which has the busiest harbor in the world. There is a frenzied activity that seems to touch all every corner of the port. All manner of vessels move quickly across the water. This port is used as a transfer point between China and Europe and the Americas. There is a virtual sea of containers that are stacked along the 30 km length of the wharf which seems to dwarf us even as we rode thru it in our bus.
Once out of the port area we headed for "China Town" for a walk thru its market and a look at some temples. There is a lot of merchandise that is red and red is a common color in their temples since it is considered a lucky color for the Chinese.
From there we were off to the river front where they have spent massive amounts of money to develop it into a world class place. Here we saw the symbol of Singapore, the "Merlion". We could also see the worlds largest ferris wheel as well as a stadium set up for 30 thousand to watch their annual Formula 1 race.
Singapore you cannot help but be impressed with their landscaping and flowers. Our guide told us that they employ 10,000 gardeners and it shows.
Then off to the airport for my flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Tomorrow Angkor Wat
