Today was our second stop in Singapore. It is a wonderful city in every respect. You feel safe everywhere we went, it was clean, the people are helpful, the city is very organized and efficient and it is clearly a center of business and commerce. We were once again docked in the freight part of the port terminal which required a ride of about 15 minutes just to get out of the container port and into the regular traffic flow.
We picked up a cab downtown and had him drive us around a little. We went to a mountain overlook and then to an island where they have developed a collection of entertainment venues. The Universal Studio is scheduled to open in a week and it looks just like the one in Orlando. After a few more stops for some pictures we were dropped off at Boat Quay where we did some walking and had lunch along the river. Then a quick walk to Raffels Hotel which is a famous landmark. Then another cab back to catch the bus to the ship.
Since we have written before about this city I won't say much more, except that it is worlds apart from its neighbors in its civility and architecture.
Tomorrow a day at sea.
Chris - Singapore...Back for more! What a great day to be able to enjoy the beauty of Singapore. It's lush vegetation, gorgeous flowers, quiet river and exciting architecture!
