Day 39 At Sea

We only have two more stops in Australia before we leave. Tomorrow we will be in Freemantle and Perth and our final stop will be in Geraldton.
Both of these stops are in the state of Western Australia. Australia actually has seven separate states They are , with their major city as follows: Queensland (Brisbane), New South Wales (Sidney), Victoria (Melbourne), Tasmania (Hobart), South Australia (Adelaide), Northern Territory (Darwin), and Western Australia (Perth). Before our trip is over we will have visited five of these states. We have met a number of Aussies on this ship and when asked where they are from they usually answer by telling you the state they come from instead of the city.
Australia is the sixth largest country in the world by land mass and is home to over 20 million people. Its' population is clustered on its coasts with relatively few people living in the interior. The "Great Barrier Reef" runs along the east coast. Just in land on the east coast is a large mountain range which stretches north and south for almost the entire length of the country, called the "Great Dividing Range". We are trying to experience as much of Australia as possible since it will be a while before we return.
Tomorrow Freemantle / Perth
