Day 43 At Sea toward Singapore

We continue our northward travels across the Indian Ocean. Not much to talk about except a few observations. I was surprised when I studied the map that New Guinea was so close to Australia. It is separated by the Torres Strait which on the map I studied was fairly narrow.
I continue to hear news of the earth quakes with one in Taiwan, Japan, and Chile with major aftershocks. The news also reached us about the rogue waves that hit the cruise ship off the coast of Spain. It gives one pause to be riding around on the ocean with all this going on.
Tomorrow another day at sea.

Chris - "Trivial Pursuits" - I thought I'd give you an update on our trivia efforts. First a result from our last cruise. Our team "The Odyssey Oddities" ended up placing second out of 14 teams in a progressive trivia game. We missed the last day since we'd moved ships so we didn't hear until a couple of days ago. We got book marks for our efforts. We miss our team and the fun of trivia on that ship. The Odyssey plays with teams of 12, here the Princess plays with teams of 6. The teams on the Princess, I noticed, often don't stay together as they did on the last ship. Mostly because there are often as many as 4 trivia games a day, including some on port days and I think people don't want to feel committed to go all the time. It's not as much fun as you're always having to find people to play with (there are about 30 or more teams). We have met a lot of different people and have our favorite people to play with, if we can find them. They are Vivian and Tony from Australia, 100 miles inland from the east coast. They are about 40 and are a lot of fun and they are very knowledgeable, particularly about pop culture. We played with them last night during the 70's trivia and actually tied for the win. We all got ballcaps....yeah! (you know I wouldn't have talked about trivia unless we were doing well). Yesterday was a great day for us in trivia as not only did we win last night but we tied with another team in the morning and lost in the tie breaker. Who cares how many spaces there are on a Scrabble board! Get a life...I hate Scrabble!!
