Pictures today are: Having room service breakfast on our veranda, Chris' arts and crafts project, and sunset last night.
I don't think many of the readers will remember the TV show "Adventures in Paradise" starring Gardner McKay but for those that do these last few days bring that memory back to me. For those too young to have seen the show it centered around a captain of a schooner that sailed in the South Pacific. It always ended with a picture of the schooner sailing off with a beautiful sunset in the background. You could almost feel the soft sea breezes. Well we actually can feel them. Today it was about 82 degrees with scattered clouds.
As we get closer to New Zealand our speakers have changed and now I have to strain to understand the Kiwi's. I am sure they are speaking English but their turn of a phrase or pronunciation has my mind racing to keep up. It does have a lilting quality to it and sometimes you wonder if they got mad could they deliver the rebuke without sounding nice.
Tomorrow Rarotonga in the Cook Islands.
Chris - An International Coup -Well, I told you I wanted to recruit a British couple for our trivia team and I was able to "pick up" a couple at the bar. We changed the name of our team to "Odyssey Oddities" and after the first day (the trivia runs the length of a trip "segment") we're in first place out of 14 teams! Ironically the biggest contribution the Brit made was an Elvis question, and he missed the question about the UK. But we're in first...at least for now. Speaking of international we played "Name That Tune" last night with a whole team from Norway. Arts and Crafts is a great place for me to meet people and it's been fun to mix with so many from different countries. Today I was with a number of Brits (I heard that the biggest number of cruisers are from the UK). The last Arts and Crafts was my favorite as I sat across from a woman who spends half a year in Ireland and half in South Africa. She was fascinating. The varying nationities makes it harder to make close friends, but sooo much more interesting to talk to them!

Just like you two trying to rig the trivia by recruiting a team. If nothing else they should be able to help you decipher the kiwi dialect faster. Beautiful pictures the last few days, particularly Bora Bora and Tahiti. We are getting about 8 inches of snow today so enjoy that beautiful weather.
Hey we STILL have under the allotted number of 12! But your Dad is worth 2! :)
I like the "Adventures in Paradise" I never saw the show you referenced but I have to admit I am enjoying following your adventures. It is my new lunch time entertainment. I never wanted to go on a cruise before but this is making me re-think. Enjoy!!! Dana
Thanks, Dana, it's fun for us to know you're following us and to read your comments. Must say I miss Bigfork and our friends, but certainly would rather be here right now!
Chris
Woot! Way to go on the trivia. Hope you win it all!
